Webware/Web 2.0 Awards

I viewed both websites, and what I found most interesting is in WEBWARE-Browsers and Extensions--Hand gestures on the horizon for Microsoft Virtual Earth. Watch the video, it shows how you can copy the image of a document to a glass and manipulate the image with hand gestures, rotating and scaling with both hands. Yes, just like the movie The Minority Report. The speaker estimates 5 to 8 years from now, hand gestures will be commonplace, beyond the mouse as a pointer.

Online Software

I've heard about Google online word/spreadsheets but have not tried it. After looking at the online software of Google and Zoho, I can see how easy and beneficial this is for individuals, groups, as well as for businesses. Love it.

Library 2.0

This lesson was the most gratifying thus far. The intriguing articles in this lesson are an eye opener on the future dynamics of library services. I look forward to experiencing these exciting changes.

Google Search Engine

The custom search engine can come in handy for some individuals, but again I choose to search the old fashion way, old fashion?, never thought I'd say old fashion in searching for information on the high-speed world-wide cobweb.

Wiki

I took a class in the early 90's on creating websites, which was laborious, so I can appreciate the ease of adding, deleting and editing content without the use of HTML. As mentioned in 2.0, Wikis will definitely have a place in a library setting. KCLS is a system of creative and innovate people willing to provide, share, inform and improve on information whether for the patrons or staff or for lookie-loos browsing the web. And, yes, I love the fact that this is a collaborative effort--teamwork.
